Antonio Conte is reportedly eyeing a return to the Premier League with Manchester United in the event that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is shown the exit door.

Conte whose only stint in the Premier League was with Chelsea is currently without a club and will join the Old Trafford side if his services are needed.

Solskajer suffered a horrifying 5-0 loss to Liverpool on Sunday, the most number of goals a Manchester United side has conceded at home to an opposition. The defeat has left football fans wondering if the Norwegian will have a job before the club’s next outing.

Conte led Chelsea to Premier League success in his first season before falling out with the club’s hierachy. His next stop was Inter Milan in the Serie A.

Manchester United legend, Gary Neville commenting on the Italian joining United as a pundit on Sky Sports said, “They won’t bring a hitman in. They will stick with Ole and he has to win something this season. Any other club he’d be in trouble tonight.

“I might be wrong but I don’t think that he is. I think it would be wrong to sack Ole today. I

“Jose was the best manager in the world and couldn’t do it. I wouldn’t bring Conte in to United. He’s not a fit for United.

Manchester United has been on a winless run that has seen them lose three and draw one of their last four league matches. Their last win was against West Ham over a month ago.
