It is no longer news that at about   2:43am last Saturday, the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC announced the postponement of the 2019 general elections, citing challenges bothering on logistics.

To say that Imo State is definitely going to be the political hotbed of the forthcoming general elections in Nigeria, may not be far from the glaring reality on ground.

Today, we recall the interview Festus Okoye, INEC’s Information and Voter Education Committee Chairman granted us and published on Saturday, December 29. Considering what has played out in the last one week, we find it pertinent to serve this again. Okoye who is also INEC Commissioner in charge of South East spoke about three weeks after President Buhari failed to assent to the Electoral Amendment Bill on the grounds that it was too close to the 2019 elections.
