As  the 2019 general elections are  approaching, candidates are jostling to be voted for, but they should strategize  on how to impact on the nation and the people positively.

They should not position themselves and their cronies  for parochial interest, and, as  a minister of God with a divine duty to warn people, community, nation and others, I have this wake-up call for a nation and our political leaders in a state of slumber.

Notwithstanding the socio-economic challenges facing the country today, and the crimes and criminalities arising from corruption, killings, cultism, rape, kidnappings, armed robbery among others, government should check these social vices urgently for there to be sustainable peace, stability, justice and fairness without which there can be on meaningful development and good governance.

Also good governance is needed in a situation in which the gap between the rich and the poor has widened.

Considerably, while many Nigerians are increasingly angry and hungry in the midst of plenty is caused for great concern.

In addition, the lingering issues of hunger, poverty hopelessness, unemployment, fulfillment electoral promises, all these needed to be addressed by our leaders.

Frankly speaking, the spate of killings in some states of the federation is worrisome and calls for everyone’s attention and concern. Each day is greeted by announcements of bombings here and there, with several innocent lives cut short unceremoniously. Also, the menace of herdsmen has become a recurring decimal in Nigeria and lives are being lost on a daily basis

For good governance, the killings in Nigeria must END.

Insecurity is a reproach to any nation. Hence the primary responsibility of any government is the protection of life and property, and the responsibility to end the killing is with the federal Government. It is our candid hope that Nigerians hold the president and the federal government to their promise to the international community that he would work to end the killings.

For good governance, Nigerians must respect constituted authority, rather than wishing them evil.

Government at all levels should declare state of emergency on unemployment, to tackle the socio- economic challenges Nigeria is presently facing.

It is also Alarming the socio-malaise that have bedevilled the entire nation including kidnapping, rape, ritual killings, armed robbery, Fulani-Herdsmen killings, Boko-Haram menace and other violent crimes, therefore the Federal Government should take cognisance of the provision of section 14(2)(b) of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (As amended) that-”the security and welfare of the people shall be the primary purpose of the Government” and double their efforts in the fight against everything constituting a threat to the peace of our country

Leaders should also remember that masses who voted them to power, did not do that, so as to inflict them with pains.
