Victor Moses retirement from international duty with the Super Eagles is a shocking development, says ex-international, Paul Okoku.
The Chelsea wing-back stunned the football world yesterday when he announced his quit decision on his twitter handle, noting that he wanted to focus on his club career with the London giants.
With the qualification campaign for 2019 African Cup of Nations resuming next month, as Nigeria gear up to face minnows Seychelles, many football fans see Moses retirement as a blow to the teeth for Nigerian football.
And reacting yesterday, Okoku, who played at the 1984 African Cup of Nations has said that Moses retirement came to him all too suddenly.
‘’I am surprised and shocked with his retirement from international football. I think it has come all too soon and sudden because nobody saw it coming and it is really a shocking development for our football’’, said Okoku.
