Delta State Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr. Chidi Okonji, yesterday, denied any form of crisis in the party in the state, saying that the party was intact under the leadership of Prophet Jones Erue as the state Chairman.
Okonji described those behind reports of crisis in the party as mischief makers working for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to ensure that APC does not win the 2019 governorship election.
Okonji, in a statement while reacting to reports in some national dailies over a purported crisis and leaders rejecting Erue’s chairmanship, said the reports were a product of falsehood, manufactured by PDP agents in APC.
Condemning the reports, Okonji described those behind them as enemies of APC fraternizing with Delta State PDP, with a view to destroying the party for their personal greed and selfish interest.
Saying that the report of the Delta APC crisis was a infigment of the person’s imagination, he said that aggrieved members of the party so far visited had embraced reconciliation, hence the writer couldn’t get anybody to mention in the story.
He reiterated that the swearing-in of Prophet Erue by the National Chairman of the party, Mr Adams Oshiomhole, as the authentic chairman of the state APC, had put to rest all lingering crises after the reconciliation meeting initiated by the National Chairman, which was attended by all APC stakeholders.
