Prevent anarchy, end killings, GKS pleads

By Sam Eyoboka

Warri—MINISTERS of God’s Kingdom Society, GKS, have condemned the wanton killings, abductions and destruction of property and people in various parts of the country.

In a communiqué at the end of their annual conference at the church headquarters, Salem City, in Warri, Delta State, the ministers said it was imperative that government acts decisively to deal with the killings in Benue, Plateau, Nasarawa, Taraba, Kaduna, Kebbi and Zamfara states, among other states in the federation which had led to the displacement of thousands of men, women and children so as to “prevent anarchy and its horrendous consequences.”

The GKS ministers urged politicians to avoid all forms of violence, vote-rigging, kidnapping, killing of electoral officials, and to exercise the fear of God as they struggle for power at various electoral contests in the country, including the general election in 2019.

“The striving for positions cannot be a do-or-die battle in which the end justifies the means,” the ministers stated, while appealing to the electorate to vote according to their consciences “by making the right choices that will lead to the rapid development of the country.”
