Hajj 2018: Nigerian delegation visits Riyadh

The President, General Authority of Civil Aviation, GACA in Saudi Arabia, His Excellency, Abdulhakim bin Muhammad Al Tamimi, has promised to give Nigeria all the necessary support it deserves for another successful hajj operations in the holy land.

Muhammad Al Tamimi spoke while receiving Nigerian delegation led by Senator Monsurat Sunmonu, Chairman, Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, during a visit to the Saudi Arabian Civil Aviation Authority in Riayadh recently to consolidate on arrangements already on ground for a successful Hajj operation, and to strengthening the cooperation between the two countries.

Muhammad Al Tamimi said: “We have very good story of cooperation between our two countries.” The last Hajj was successful, and we will make sure this Hajj is very successful by the grace of the Almighty.”

GACA is the operator of Saudi’s international airports as well as its domestic airports.

Responding, NAHCON Chairman; Barr. Mukhtar Muhammed thanked their host for the support and cooperation the Saudi government offer Nigeria and Nigerian pilgrims.

Barr. Muhammed also paid a condolence visit to the Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Bin Taher-Benten, on the death of his mother. He prayed to God to give him and his family the courage to bear the loss.

Others present at the meeting were Honorable Nnenna Ijeoma Elendu Ukeje, Chairman: House Committee on Foreign Affairs, members of Nigeria’s diplomatic mission in Saudi Arabia led by Ambassador Isa Dodo, representatives of National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, led by its Chief Executive Officer and Chairman, Barr. Abdullahi Mukhtar Muhammad, representative of Nigeria’s Governor’s Forum, representative of Nigeria’s airline operators, of the Civil Aviation department and others.
