The Bible says in Jeremiah 32:27, “I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me”. God wants us to always ask for our needs from HIM. If people do not put their requests to God, it might be difficult to receive one’s desires in full.
Therefore, people ought to learn how to request because they are created to acquire knowledge from the teachings of their parents, pastors, teachers, peers and from the Word of God. Learn-ing starts from what we see in the environment and in our relationship with others. The knowledge we acquire should teach us how to put our re-quest to God.
If people do not know how to request, many things can go wrong within and around them. For instance, such people may not live long, they may do a lot of things wrongly; their lives may become meaningless, they may not live in a peaceful envi-ronment and may not have good health. There was an elderly man in my hometown that could not sleep for eight days, even after he had taken necessary drugs.
When I went to see him, I told him that he was only languish-ing in ignorance. I told him that the tree he was resting his back on is the thing that would let him sleep. What he simply needed to do was to peel the back of the tree, wash it thoroughly, add two cubes of sugar and cook it altogether. Then he should filter and drink the solution.
When he did as I told him, he slept within 30 minutes. God wants people to acquire knowledge. The Bible says in Proverbs 18:15 “The heart of the dis-cerning acquires knowledge” Therefore, it is better to acquire the knowledge that we help us know how to get our needs from God.
How do we put our requests to God? Why do we request and we do not re-ceive? The Bible says in Matthew 7:7 “Ask and it will be given, you seek ang you will find” A lot of people request and they do not search for what they are request-ing for. Can you imagine a person that needs food staying at home without ma-king efforts to provide food. Yet he or she hopes that food will grace his or her table. NO WAY!
Many people complain that they do not have but they refuse to ask God who graciously provides for all that look upon Him. But that God grants people’s request does not always cover people who are wallowing in sin.
This is because, they make their requests to service the lust of the body. The Bible says that the prayer of a sinner is an abomination unto God. James 4:2-3 ”
