Kelechi Iheanacho said Leicester City’s 3-1 home win over Arsenal in Wednesday’s English Premier League tie will boost their confidence.
The 21-year-old got the curtain raiser before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang drew the Gunners level but Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez’ efforts handed the King power Stadium outfit a first victory over their visitors since 1994.
The win ended their five-match winless run and the forward is certain that the victory will inspire the Foxes ahead of their last game against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
“It is always good to be involved in a good sport, a great team. We started well and we got the first goal we have the confidence and the momentum and we finished well,” Iheanacho said.
“Yeah it was important to get the first goal to get us going and to get out confidence back for the last couple of games.
“I think we ‘ve got our confidence back now, we are strong now and we’ll keep going.”
Reacting to his goal, he said: “It was a great goal, good composure, good assist from Fousseni [Diabate], a good finish so we keep going.
