Atiku mourns victims of Maiduguri attack

ABUJA- Former Vice President and 2019 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential hopeful, Atiku Abubakar has condoled with Nigerians over the recent attack by gunmen in Maiduguri which left some people dead and several others injured.

The former Vice President said he was concerned by senseless attacks on innocent citizens even after reports that government has opened window of talks on the prospects of a ceasefire with the dreaded Boko Haram sect.

In a press release by his media office yesterday, Atiku described as mind boggling the continued violence in an around Maiduguri, the Borno State Capital.

While acknowledging the role of the military in averting even more deaths from the attack, the former Vice President said, “Intelligence gathering and sharing by all security agencies is of the essence if we must stem the attacks with all its attendant loss to lives and property.”
