AKURE—THE National Agency for Food and Drug Administration, NAFDAC, in Ondo State has vowed to clampdown on herb sellers operating without approval in the state.
Its state coordinator, Wole Ojo said the herbs being sold remains injurious to human health warning that local herbs sellers and hawkers will henceforth be apprehended.
He said the measure was informed about the death of two people who consumed local herbs at Ondo garage in Ondo town from a woman who was later apprehended and dealt with severely.
Ojo said: “The local herbs hawkers are the worst because their herbs are not packaged. We will run after you to tell us more about the product because we do not know the contents in it.
“It is worse because the liver will detoxicate it into the system and one has to be very careful. Sometimes they put wrong address like Lagos, Nigeria or lkorodu, Lagos, Festac, Agege, where in particular.”
