ABUJA – In a bid to checkmate the spread of deadly infectious diseases like Lassa Fever, the federal government has established a Disease Isolation Unit at the Federal Medical Centre, Keffi, in Nasarawa State.
Speaking while commissioning the Isolation Unit, Minister of State for Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, said the Unit would boost healthcare delivery service and also provide assurance of safety to patients and the general public during the outbreaks of deadly diseases.
“It is hoped that from now on, any suspected case of disease that carries the danger of spreading to other persons would be safely isolated accordingly, for proper care as standard operating procedures have been designed to fish out such patients at the entry points of the hospital, he said.
