WHAT is the meaning of help? Help can be viewed from several perspectives. For instance help could be viewed when a person is lifted up from falling down or to deliver a person that is about to be killed or to take care of those that are sick or to see a broken home and mend it or to show the way to a person that is about to fall into a pit or gutter.
Three things are joined together and become one that is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Similarly help, love and endurance are one.
If we have love and do not know how to render help, then there is no love. What we know as love is helping somebody out of problem. Help does not end in a place, If you help me another person could help you too.
If you help someone your child could be helped in another place or town. Help is love and we can help the work of God. God owns His work and He can help Himself. But He allows us to help His work.
There are lots of things that God can do but He wouldn’t do them. You would know for sure that He can do it but He would not do it. If God should raise help for somebody, we then help some people to help those that God had already helped. For example good cars are made overseas and brought to this country.
The manufacturers are not required to maintain them. There are trained auto engineering personnel in the country that take care of car maintenance.
Similarly God created a lot of things in the world and sent some people to be helping His works. The question is who have you helped or are you helping? What help have you rendered for God before or for the children of God or house of God? Proverbs 3:27 says: “Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do so…” Do not withdraw your hands of doing good from those that are yours.
Who are yours? It is the person sitting beside you and those you see with your eyes, they are your own. It is not the person you have not seen. These are the works of God He wants you to amend. Sometime ago I mentioned that the help we render is for ourselves.
There is nobody that has not received help one way or the other from somebody. Help is useful for everybody. Help someone so that others could help you.
The world is a place where people require services from each other to satisfy people desires and wants. Therefore help my child over there so that I could help your child here. The Bible says whatever you sow is what you would reap Matthew 7:18. A good tree would bear good fruits and a bad tree would bear bad fruits. So a person cannot sow maize and reap beans.
So there is no goodness you do to another person’s child that your child would not reap. If you forcefully do good your child would forcefully receive goodness. Learn now how to do good to others. God is always happy with the person that does good to others. There are different goodness e.g. helping someone to make his or her family stand firm or assist a sick person to get healed.
These are better than giving out money to people. Imagine a politician gave out N50,000 to area boys in a community. The money led to the death of two people and torching of two houses. Preferably the politician could have created job opportunities for the youth. Brethren, who are you helping? Any person that fails to help the work of Jesus, would not get happiness from Jesus.
He gathered his disciples to be preaching and proclaiming His work. The help Jesus needed from Christians is to move from one hamlet to the other to preach the gospel.
There are some countries that have the largest population in the world but Christianity is not well established there. China and India account for about 30% of world population. Matthew 28:18 says: “And Jesus came and spoke to them saying all authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.”
