THE Coordinator of Okowa Continua Campaign Organization, Delta State, Comrade Imalah Ugoachanum, has called on Deltans to mobilize support for the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa second term bid to enable him perfect the good works he has began in the state.
Imalah, who made the call in Asaba, the state capital during the debut of the group, said the governor’s ability to manage the meagre resources at his disposal to bring prosperity for all Deltans despite economic downturn endeared him to form the group.
Dignitaries at the event are the state Governor, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa; Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Festus Agas; state Commissioner for Higher Education, Engr. Jude Sinebe; Special Assistant to the Governor on Students’ Affairs, ComradeJerry Ehiwario; NADESSTU President, Comrade Agolo Samson among others.
He said, inter-alia: ” Despite these economic challenges of which Delta State was not immune to, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa turned the negatives into positives. The situation did not overwhelm him as he was able to manage the situation in such a way that people began to wonder how he was able to hit the ground running considering the difficult times.”
The coordinator added : ” We are simply out to support the governor’s re-election and good governance of which the governor has exhibited since he came on board. I want to assure the governor that we will mobilize Delta State students to vote for Okowa come, 2019 in view of his contribution to the educational sector.
Imalah, who is also the national Vice-President, National Association of Delta State Students (NADESSTU), argued that a true leader’s capacity to lead could truly be measured during difficult times, adding that the governor has proved himself in this regard as such deserved a second term.
” Without a shadow of doubt, Governor Okowa has proved his worth and we need to support him. If you visit the 25 local government in the state, you will realize that there is no local government that is left out in terms of project execution.
He thanked Delta State students’ and Deltans at large for their support for the Okowa led-administration, urging them to sustain the support so as to enable the governor perfect his good works in the state, even as he called for a landslide votes in 2019.
