Makurdi – The Benue Executive Council on Wednesday approved a total of N8.3 for the construction of 30 township roads in four major towns of the state.

According to the Commissioner for Information, Mr Lawrence Onoja, the council, at its meeting in Makurdi, also approved N4 billion for the construction of the Awajir-Oju road.
Onoja, who briefed newsmen after the meeting, listed the towns to include Makurdi, Gboko, Katsina-Ala and Otukpo.
He said that the road projects expected to cover a total of 54 kilometres, would be handled by the works, transport and energy ministries of the state.
Onoja said that the meeting also approved the appointment of Dr. Sunday Edoh as Provost, College of Education, Oju.
Until his appointment, Edoh was the Special Adviser to Gov Samuel Ortom on Labour. (NAN)
