Buhari in Daura to commiserate with extended family members

Daura(Katsina) – President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday arrived his home town, Daura, Katsina state, to commiserate with members of his extended family who were bereaved recently.

The presidential aircraft carrying the president and some members of his encourage landed at the Umaru Musa Yar’adua International Airport at about 4.40p.m.

The President, who was welcomed at the airport by Gov. Aminu Masari and a large crowd of supporters and well-wishers, boarded a presidential helicopter that conveyed him to Daura.

President Buhari had earlier today inaugurated the Nigerian Air Force Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, named; ‘TSAIGUMI’.
Tsaigumi is Nigeria’s first indigenously developed Unmanned Aerial Vehicle.

The President’s helicopter landed at the Daura helipad at about 5.15p.m, where he was received by the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Faruk, senior councilors of the Daura Emirate and large crowd of people from within and outside the state.

While in Daura, the President is expected to receive visitors who would be trooping to his private resident to console him on the death of Hajiya Halima Dauda and Hajiya Ai’sha Alhaji Mamman.

Hajiya Halima Dauda, was the President’s niece and younger sister to his close associate and nephew Malam Mamman Daura while Hajiya Ai’sha Alhaji Mamman was the wife of the President’s older brother, Alhaji Mamman.

Halima Dauda, aged 56, who has since been buried in Daura, left behind 10 children, including one of President Buhari’s Personal Assistants, Mohammed Sabi’u Tunde.(NAN)
