As they have done in recent seasons, Real Madrid have scrupulously followed the performance-related bonues agreed with the first team squad. This season, the players are owed a tidy windfall for winning four trophies in 2017: The Champions League, the league and both Super Cups.
Back in June, details of the bonuses on offer for winning a League-Champions League double were revealed – a feat Madrid have not managed since the 1950s. Madrid’s captains agreed a bonus of 1.5 million euros for winning the two major trophies. Then there was an extra bonus for winning the UEFA Supercup against Manchester United and then the Spanish Supercup against Barcelona. The bonus for winning both of those trophies was 250,000 euros.

Diario AS understands that the first team players received payments in their bank accounts today corresponding to the bonuses. Every member of the first team squad and training staff has received one million euros net plus an extra, special pre-Christmas bonus of 110,000 euros. It is worth noting that these bonuses are not tax-free and that Madrid’s autonomous Community will retain 52% of the total each player received in tax
