Taraba Assembly sets up c’ttee on constitution review

Jalingo—The Taraba State House of Assembly, yesterday, constituted a three-man committee to lead deliberations on the ongoing constitution review, which is expected to be brought before the House for adoption from the National Assembly.

House of Representatives

Speaker of the House, Abel Diah, announced the constitution of the panel, while welcoming members from their annual recess.

Diah named the Deputy Speaker, Mohammed Gwampo of Yorro Constituency as Chairman of the committee, while Hosea Ibbi of Takum I was appointed Vice Chairman.

Mohammed Bashir of Nguroje Constituency was also appointed a member of the committee, and the Speaker directed the clerk of the House to appoint a secretary for the committee.

He urged members of the committee to consult their respective constituencies to distil their opinions on the items slated for amendment.
