SOME traditional rulers in Ondo State have cried out over alleged denied promotion to the  first class status by successive administrations in the state.

The monarchs hail from Akure South, Akure North and Ifedore.

The Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyimbo   Aladelusi, who spoke on behalf of the Obas, said Ondo Central had been left behind in the promotion to the first class status since the state was created in 1976.

Aladelusi disclosed this during a summit held in Akure speaking areas in the Ondo State capital.

“Only four monarchs were in first class status when the state current political dispensation began in 1999”, he said.

According to him, today, Ondo North alone has ten first class monarchs while Ondo South, which had no first class monarch as of 1999 now also has ten monarchs.
