THE Western Lotto has said it empowered over 2, 000 Nigerians with N82 million since it commenced operation barely two months ago.
Managing Director, Mr Yomi Ogunfowora, who disclosed this at the presentation of a cheque of N15 million to Miss Dorcas Nwagbara, the first jackpot winner in Powerball gaming platform, in Lagos stated that the term of reference of Western Lotto is to bring fun and hope to the Nigerian public.
He stated: “We bring to Nigerians consumer games that offer opportunities to change the narrative of their lives. Just one winning combination with minimal expenditure can modify the life story of a subscriber. Western Lotto Nigeria Limited offers seven international lottery games under license from the Nigerian Lottery Regulatory Commission. The games are Powerball, Euro Jackpot, LottoRace, Euro Millions, Mega Millions, Kashman and UK Lotto.”
According Ogunfowora, the Powerball is one of seven international lottery games on the Western Lotto platform. He said that the N15m prize was arguably the highest winning on any lottery in Nigeria.
Nwagbara, a graduate of the Imo State University and entrepreneur, who won N15 million jackpot in the Powerball draw on August 13 said she was initially shocked when she received a call informing her of her win.
“As you can imagine, I am super excited. Friday, September 15, was one of the most exciting days in my life so far. I did not even know that my name was everywhere. I then got a call from Western Lotto. Apparently, they had been trying to reach me all of Thursday, September 14 to inform me of my win the previous day.”
