Grace Ibironke Ojo: from media practice to creative clothes design

BY OSA AMADI

Grace Ibironke Ojo came to the 2017 AFAC Expo with multiple talents and skills. A graduate of political science from Bayero University, Kano, and a master’s degree holder in Public Policy and Administration, she worked with the marketing department of Leadership newspaper for 8 years before she left to concentrate on her clothesline: Grazee Stiches and her private advertising Agency, Gramatino Nigeria Limited.

Her creatively made clothes, which are artworks in themselves, are ‘simple and stylish’ as her catchphrase says. Grazee Stiches has something for everyone – men, women, and children. Highly industrious and enterprising, Grace has learnt dressmaking on apprenticeship while she was in the university. Later she attended a proper fashion school. It was while she was working in the media that she established her clothesline, starting very little.

Today, Grace Ibironke Ojo and Grazee Stiches have grown. But this tenacious lady has her eyes  on the White House of United States of America, where she dreams to dress the wife of the president of that God’s own country. If you think that is too ambitious, Grace already takes her products to USA and other countries where she has customers.
