Valley of dry bones(I) – Muoka Lazarus

Valley of dry bones(I) – Muoka Lazarus

Jesus on the cross

By Muoka Lazarus

Ezekiel 37:4-8,10 says: “Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live: And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD. So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.

Jesus on the cross

And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above but there was no breath in them. So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.”

Beloved, the world as a matter of explanation is full of men and women, adult and children who are spiritually dead. People without life of God in them, filled with darkness because of the type of life they are living, people who have immersed themselves in sin and are full of wickedness until Christ came into the world and began to bring about light and life. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3;16).

The love of God for man brought about the awakening and reform-ation of man. If not for the emergence of our Saviour Jesus Christ, man would have been worse than dried bones in nature and essence and considered less valuable.

John 1:5 says: “And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.”

The world was in deep wicked-ness and ignorant of the truth until our Lord Jesus Christ came to teach an ignorant, benighted, and wicked world the truth and way of life. And that is the light that came from Jesus Christ.

That light came from heaven through Jesus Christ to enlighten the world and I want to let you know that that light shines upon the valley of dry bones to give those bones lives and sinews. So, in the midst of darkness of ignor-ance and idolatry, killings, kid-napping, rituals etc which over-spread the world, the light of God shines.

Matthew 4:16 says: “The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.”

The phrase ‘people which sat in darkness’ denote great ignorance. As we can’t see anything either in darkness or at night, and under such condition, we would not know where to go, thus, those who are ignorant of God, are said to be in darkness and iniquity, as ignorance is often connected with crime and vice, so darkness is used to denote sin until Christ appeared.

So, the people that sat in dark-ness are people seeing shadows and when light sprang up through the coming of Christ, it awaken their consciousness’ and now they are able to comprehend realities. So light shun on people in dark-ness and prevailed upon them. I want you to take note when our Lord Jesus Christ came and be-gan to prophesy, preach, the dry bones began to come together just like in the case of Ezekiel.

The Scripture says that the Spirit of God came upon prophet Ezek-iel and took him to the valley of dry bones. So also the Spirit of God was upon Jesus Christ and took Him into the world full of wicked people and sinners (dry bones) and as He began to preach, people began to come to light, to that original nature in which God created them, to the truth and reality of life.

From that juncture, the darkness started to disappear, wickedness started to disappear and many people became born again through the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. And that is the essence of the parable of the dry bones as stated in the Book of Ezekiel.

John 3:14-19 says: “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whoso-ever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have ever-lasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

He that be-lieveth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil”.

I want you to understand that Christ came into the world and gave life to mankind like Prophet Ezekiel stated in parable of the valley of dry bones, where there was no light and life came into it by prophetic utterances. And as He began to preach and prophesy, a new life began to come upon them, extinguishing the old ugly life.

Before the coming of Christ, nobody was having the life of God, that Spiritual life that was lost in Adam. And so since the coming of Christ, I want you to know that as many who believe in Him became the children of God. And they have the light of God and the true nature which was not from Adam. And now they are the Children of the universal Kingdom of God, and therefore, children of light.

Matthew 6:33 says: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Once those that accepted and believe in Jesus come into the Kingdom which we are talking about, they will become the Children of God, thus the children of light. By this they will have advantage over those in darkness, those that are sinners because they are alive, and have seen the light.

Many dry bones have come alive today by hearing the word of God. And from the days of the Apostles till date many dry bones have come alive through preach-ing and prophesying, therefore there is need that we must follow their footstep.

This tells us that after Jesus came and transferred the life to the Apostles and then to us, many people have become alive today and many have enter-ed into the miniature Kingdom of God on earth as soon as they received salvation. They are now free and out of that valley of dry bones because of the life-changing word of God.
