BENIN – A NEW bishop, Rt. Rev. Augustine Ehijimentor Ohilebo was weekend conscecrated for the Diocese of Sabongida-Ora, Church of Nigeria, (Anglican Communion).
The enthronement which held at St. John’s Anglican Cathedral was performed by the Archbishop of Anglican Province of Bendel, Most Rev. Friday Imaekhai, on behalf of the Anglican Primate, Most Rev. Nicholas Okoh.
Rev. Ohilebo was ordained in 2004 before he proceeded to the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma where he studied Religious Management and Cultural Studies.
He is the third bishop of Sabongi-da-Ora diocese.
Bishop Ohilebo, speaking shortly after his ordination, pledged to consolidate on the achievements of his predecessors, warning clergymen in the Diocese against laziness and lukewarm attitude in the discharge of priestly responsibilities.
The new bishop also pledged to revive the diocese’s cassava processing and pure water factories, and establish a printing press from the set of printing machines donated to the diocese.
His words, “Our administration shall be committed to the revamping of these structures. We should be ready to give up anything if God ask us to do so.”
