The Youth Sports Federation Of Nigeria, YSFON, has assured Nigerian youths of a memorable time in Owerri when the 16th edition of the Chief of the Naval Staff Boys U-14 and the 8th edition of the Naval Officers Wives Association (NOWA) U-17 Girls Championships begin from 5th to 12th of August 2017 at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri.
Speaking at the National Stadium in Lagos on Tuesday, YSFON Publicity Secretary, Paul Akhagbemhe said despite the initial postponement, the sports body has finalised arrangements towards having an outstanding competition.
The image maker said YSFON is very grateful to the Chief of the Naval Staff Real, Admiral Ibok Ibas for his unwavering support for Nigerian youths, stressing that the Nigerian Navy has demonstrated so much passion for YSFON and proven that the Navy is a very responsible Military Organisation
On his part Secretary General of YSFON, Patrick Okpavuerhe urged the state secretaries to ensure total compliance with the sports body’s philosophy of strict adherence to the age specifications to avoid unpleasant consequences, warning that age cheats will not be tolerated.
Okpavuerhe insists that severe sanctions will be visited on any state found wanting during the competition.
Over 19 boys’ teams and 11 girls’ teams across the country are being expected at the Imo state capital.
