The Kaduna state independent Electoral Commission has said that it will deploy electronic voting machine during the local government election which is planned for later in the year.
The chairperson of the electoral body, Saratu Audu who demonstrated the machine before journalists in Kaduna said the deployment will ensure not only the integrity of the electoral process but will eliminate the incidence of electoral malpractice.
According to her, 6,000 pieces of the machines will be needed for the over 5000 polling stations in the State while 25,000 ad-hoc staff will be recruited for the election.
