Delta community inaugurates UPM

By Onozure Dania

A political pressure group , Uwheru Political Movement, UPM, has been inaugurated to direct and  chart a new political direction for the community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

The duo of Jim Omokoro and Chief Samson Agbemre said that the Uwheru Political Movement was borne out of necessity to chart a new political course for the community since they have been kept too long in the dark by a supposed leader,  who they said had not at any time shown them any sign of prospect or future for the Uwheru’s Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The group also passed a vote of confidence in the state governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa during its formal inauguration, noting that  it was a thing of joy that the inauguration ceremony coincided with the 58th birthday of the governor.

They said that despite the sacrifices of Uwheru PDP to the growth of the party, both at the state and national level in terms of voting strength and commitment to the party’s activities, no single government presence has been located in the community, let alone appointments.
