Adamawa declares state of emergency in education, health

Following the state of emergency Adamawa State Government declared in the education and health sectors, the State Executive Council, SEC, yesterday, approved contracts for a number of interventions in the sectors.

Rising from SEC’s extraordinary executive council session, Governor Jibrilla Bindow said his government will match words with action and ensure that critical infrastructure are provided for the benefit of Adamawa people.

According to a statement by Special Adviser to the Governor on Press and Media Affairs, Martins Dickson, the administration of Governor Bindow has outlined Government Secondary School, Hong; Government Science and Technical College, Mubi.

Others are Villanova Government Secondary School, Numan; Government Day Secondary School, Sarau and Government Day Secondary School, Demsa, to benefit in the first phase of the project.

Governor Bindow reiterated that everything is being done to ensure that the backlog of salaries arrears is cleared to motivate the teachers.

He said the council has approved the construction of the Numan General Hospital, believed to be the most dilapidated among all the general hospitals in the state.

Other health facilities that will be part of the project are Specialist Hospital, Yola; Mubi General Hospital and Ganye General Hospital.

Bindow vowed that the success of his administration in road constructions will be replicated in the education and health sectors, while calling for patience and support from the people of the state.
