LG brings energy saving product to Nigeria

LG Electronics has introduced the latest of its air-conditioner product to Nigerian market. The product, a 70 percent energy saving air-cooler has 10 years warranty. The product was donated  to the University of Lagos, UNILAG.

Speaking to journalists, General Manager, LG Electronics West Africa Operations, Mr. C.Y. Park, at the lecture delivered by the Korean Ambassador, Noh kyu-Duk in a paper titled: Korea Nigeria relations: Korea’s Economic Development and Cultural Enrichment at the premises of UNILAG, Park said, “the good thing about the airconditioner is that it is a highly durable product which comes with a 10 year warranty on the compressor boosting the customers’ confidence on the AC.”

“The conventional airconditioner goes off after attaining certain degree of temperature and restart again but for the dual cool air conditioner it is a different thing entirely, due to the inverter rotary compressor which only slows down the speed after attaining certain degree of temperature and go faster again, thereby ensuring the constant use of motor at varying speed”.

Also speaking, head of corporate marketing, LG Electronics West Africa Operations, Mr. Rajesh Agnihotri said: “LG is commitment towards coming up with products that will continue to meet the needs and aspirations of its ever growing consumers in the country. The utmost satisfaction of our teeming consumers with state of the art innovative technological designs is of great interest to us. For us in LG this is just the beginning of more good things to come”.

The airconditioner’s starting minimum current is 0.7KVA which is the first of its kind. Interestingly, it is specifically designed to save up to 70 percent energy due to the varying speed of the rotary compressor, Agnihotri stated. Other features of the product are its fast cooling system which is usually 40 percent faster due to the inbuilt 25 percent larger than normal skew fan that expels powerful blasts of air with an optimal designed larger outlet that fills the spaces with cooler air.
