THE Federal University, Lokoja, FUL, will by end of this year commence programmes in its school of postgraduate studies.
This was revealed, weekend, by the its Vice Chancellor, Professor Angela Miri while briefing newsmen on the occasion of her one year in office and the successes and challenges of the school.
Miri said the school has already secured the appointment of a Dean for the School of Postgraduates Studies, which will continue with all the processes required to get approval from the National Universities Commission, NUC, to run postgraduate programmes.
She said immediately the approval is granted, courses for the post graduates school will commence at the inception of the 2017/2018 academic session. She also hinted that the school intends to move from the conventional courses rendering now to other courses that have direct bearings with the state environment.
“The Federal University Lokoja has the advantage of being located in an environment that has a wide range of potentials. Our goal is to support the full exploitation of these potentials as a research oriented institution,” she said
