Adamawa reconstructs bridge built in 1887

Yola—Governor Muhammed Jibrilla of Adamawa State has awarded contract for the reconstruction of Gada-Mayo Bridge in Song Town of Song Local Government Area of the state.

The bridge, which has defied construction by successive administrations in the state, was constructed in 1887 by the colonial government. The contract was awarded at the cost of N585 million and is to be completed in four months.

While flagging off the project, the governor explained that the contract was in fulfilment of his electioneering campaign promises to the people of the area, adding that “history has made itself.”
