Pray for Jesus!

Pray for Jesus!

GABRIEL Jesus is understood to have opted for surgery on his broken metatarsal, which will rule him out for up to three months.

Manchester City’s £27million Brazilian wonderkid hobbled out of their 2-0 win at Bournemouth on Monday after just 14 minutes, having suffered the injury. Sources close to the player have indicated City’s medical staff gave Jesus two options with regard to the injury – physiotherapy or surgery.

With physio, Jesus was told he could be back in action for City within a month, but with the very high risk of the injury recurring once he started playing again.

Opting for surgery, which is said to be the choice Jesus has gone for, would mean a longer period out but less chance of the 19-year-old suffering a recurrence of the injury going forward.

That means Jesus could be back in action for City towards the end of the season, with the two to three-month timeline of recovery an estimate, rather than an exact prognosis.

A City statement said: “Manchester City can confirm Gabriel Jesus suffered a fractured metatarsal during the 2-0 win over Bournemouth on Monday night.”
