Amir Khan is close to sealing a dream fight with former stablemate Manny Pacquiao .
Khan is understood to have agreed terms with Pacquiao’s promoter Top Rank chief Bob Arum for a showdown with the Filipino ring legend.
Khan, 30, believes he will finally fight Pacquiao two years after the eight-weight world champion pulled out of a proposed clash between the pair.
However it is understood WBO welterweight king Pacquiao has still to sign his end of the deal to make the fight happen.
Pacquiao, 38, is under pressure from fight fans to face two-time light-welterweight champion Khan and the Bolton fighter topped an online poll to choose his next opponent.
The United Arab Emirates has been mooted as a possible venue, while Khan’s team believe they could tempt Pacquiao to the Macron Stadium.
Khan’s team, which has been boosted by the return of Asif Vali, spoke to Arum last month when they were in Las Vegas for Carl Frampton’s defeat to Leo Santa Cruz. Khan’s initial plan was to have a tune-up fight following hand surgery in the wake of his brutal KO by Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, but he would jump at the chance to fight Pacquiao, who was his training partner at Freddie Roach’s Wildcard gym in Los Angeles.
