The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun State, has urged citizens of the state to keep hope alive and join hands with Governor Rauf Aregbesola as he grapples with the ongoing economic downturn.
The party also said the governor is employing uncommon wisdom and making personal sacrifices to lay solid and irreversible foundation for Osun.
In the end of the year statement by the party’s Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy, Mr Kunle Oyatomi, a lawyer, said the governor is pre-occupied with minimizing the pains caused by Nigeria’s economic recession and still keep significant development going in spite of enormous challenge.
His words, “We are calling for the understanding and appreciation from the people of the state while encouraging them to give their support to Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola who is steering the ship of state in stormy waters. The governor is employing uncommon wisdom as well as making huge personal sacrifices (unknown to many), to ensure that he lays a solid and irreversible foundation for Osun future development.
”As the year 2016 runs out, people of Osun should seriously contemplate what the state was like before Nov. 2010 and what it is today and then convince themselves about the difference”.
“While sceptics and detractors have a right to their opinion and indeed to criticise whatever they perceived as wrong, we expected them to also have the common sense and courage to admit reality where one is as obvious on the ground as the Aregbesola-led APC government achievements are in Osun. Evidence on the ground defies falsehood and majority of Osun people have eyes to see and brains to think with.
”They are witnesses to over 800 kilometres of roads constructed throughout the state including 10km of them constructed in each local government area of the state, they also hailed the feeding programme of pupils in primary schools (250,000) of them, every school day. They appreciate Aregbesola’s administration for its welfare inputs into the lives of senior citizens, widows and youths,” he stated.
