General Leader, C &S Movement Church, Sunday Korode has called on the Federal Government to look inward and address the issue of economic recession that is currently biting hard on the masses.
Speaking during a 3-day leadership retreat of the church themed: “ Passion for Excellence in Leadership and Ministry” in Lagos, Korode maintained that there is every reason for the federal government to look inwards and diversify the economy to better the lives of every citizen.
“No recession is good for any country and the best we can do for ourselves is to think of the way out. President Obama met recession when he became the President and today, American as a country is out recession.
“Therefore anyone who would bring back the glory of this country must be truly cerebral in his approach.
On the theme of the programme, the Leader said, every leader must be accountable and passionate adding that, as a leader, you are expected to deliver both in leadership and ministry. You are expected to be 100 percent accountable and that is what we want to achieve.
“God said if you are faithful in little, you will be rewarded. The need for accountability is one of the major requirement for proper leadership both in the country and in Christendom.
On the objective, the leader further explained that, the retreat was organized to appraise and appreciate the extent to which the church has been committed to the divine vision and decide on actions, activities, programmes and projects that would further assist in that regard.
It carefully examine and understand the roles as elders and leaders in actualizing the divine direction for the church, especially within the context of individual and collective commitment to excellence in ministry and the entire operation of the church.
In his contribution, the Speaker at the event, Snr. Apostle Tayo Philips, Audit Control called on the church to take charge of the welfare of its members.
He however advised the federal government to diversify the economy and concentrate on agriculture that would best help the economic situation of the country.
