UGHELLI—A gang of gunmen, yesterday, attacked some staff of Government College, Ughelli, GCU, by Oduaran Junction along Post Office Road, dispossessing them of an undisclosed sum of money.

The attack came as a clash between two rival cult groups claimed the life of a suspected cultist simply identified as Mudiaga.

Giving details of the robbery, a commercial motorcycle operator told Vanguard that the workers were returning from one of the commercial banks in the town at 12 noon, when the gunmen attacked.

He said: “The GCU staff, including the school’s bursar, were in a white Hilux pick-up with the school’s inscription on the body, when they were held up by the gunmen in a Lexus SUV. The robbers collected money from them and fled the scene.”
