The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps,NYSC, Brigadier General Sulaiman Kazaure, has urged Corps members to remain in their states of deployment and contribute to the promotion of national unity.
He made the call while addressing the 2016 Batch ‘B’ Corps members deployed to Kebbi State shortly after their swearing-in at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Dakingari.
Kazaure, who enjoined them to avoid seeking relocation, said their posting away from their home states and geo-political zones was deliberately aimed at promoting ties among Nigerians of diverse backgrounds.
The Director-General also stressed the need for them to imbibe the spirit of patriotism; and contribute to the development their host community and the country as a whole.
He advised the Corps members to avail themselves of the opportunity for self-employment through the NYSC Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme.
The Director-General had earlier joined other dignitaries at the swearing-in ceremony of the Corps members at the Orientation camp parade ground with Governor Abubakar Bagudu presiding.
