KOKORI—PERSONS leaving with kyphosis, also known as hunchback, in Kokori and environs of Delta State are currently living in fear as suspected ritualists have invaded the community, searching for such hunches to harvest.

One of such victims is Mr. Odiriverere, popularly known as Atinipa, whose lifeless body was found on Tuesday morning with his hunch ripped off.

The attack on Atinipa was one of many as the remains of another victim, simply identified as Queen, who died and was buried at Erhomeghu community, Kokori, was exhumed with her hunch cut off.

Giving details on the death of Atinipa, one of his neighbours at his Uwedi Street residence at Kokori, told Vanguard that the incident had thrown the community into a state of shock.

According to the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, “we found his mutilated body on Tuesday morning with his back ripped open.

“We immediately alerted the community vigilante, who assisted in alerting the police, and his remains were taken to the Erhioke Cottage Hospital mortuary.”

Confirming the incident, a senior police officer at the Isiokolo Police Division, while condemning the act, stated that investigation into the incident was ongoing, adding that the division would do everything within its power to bring the perpetrators to book.
