PORT HARCOURT— TRADERS at Oyigbo Timber Market, Oyigbo Local Government Area, Rivers State, have decried the alleged delay by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to investigate allegations of embezzlement of N100 million against the immediate past executive of the market.

Briefing newsmen, yesterday, one of the aggrieved traders, Mr Francis Anyanwu,  said that the delay by the anti-graft agency to investigate the allegation and recover the alleged misappropriated money was already causing tension in the market.

He said that they reported the matter to the EFCC immediately the money was discovered missing when the new executive assumed office, adding that since the report was made several months ago, noting had been heard from the anti graft agency.

“Several months after this matter was officially reported to the EFCC, these men are still walking tall and living large at the union’s expense.”
