A
s a way of mitigating  the harsh  economic situation, the management of Gregory University Uturu, yesterday announced a 30 per cent reduction in school fees.

Arising from a consultative meeting with the Executive Secretary of National Universities Commission, NUC, Prof Abubakar Adamu Rasheed, the Chancellor of Gregory University Uturu, Dr. Gregory Ibe disclosed that the institution took the decision as a response to the hardship occasioned by the economic meltdown.

According to the Chancellor the decision to slash the school’s tuition fee is the result of various requests made by many groups including parents, clerics and Igbo leaders during their visit to the school.

He said: “As a responsible and responsive corporate citizen, this is our way of identifying with our guardians in particular and other stakeholders across the nation, who are presently experiencing excruciating times as a result of the economic crunch.”

He therefore enjoined both old and new students to avail themselves of the rare opportunity provided by the reduction to pay their tuition fees, stressing that the exercise will subsist till the nation’s economy recovers from recession.

Subsequently the university management has requested old and prospective students to visit the school website for detailed information on the new fee regime.
