Delta warring communities urged to embrace peace

AN appeal has gone to the two warring communities in Delta State, Obeti and Umuaja, to sheathe their swords and embrace peace.

An indigene, Mr Valentine Opone, made the call in a statement in Lagos.

He said the two communities, which are part of the larger Akoku Kingdom in Ukwuani Local Government Area of the state, are brothers and, as such, should not be fighting.

Opone said: “This community has four clans, Uguru, Umutu, Umuaja and Obeti. These people have been living peacefully over time and God endowed the community with the famous River Ethiope which takes its source from the community.”
