DELTA State government has dismissed reports that some of its officials are involved in child trafficking.
The state Commissioner for Information, Mr. Patrick Ukah, in a statement, said the state government or any of its officials are not involved in such act, advising members of the public to see the allegation as spurious.
He said the allegation was calculated to tarnish the image of the Ministry of Women Affairs, Community and Social Development and the entire state.
Emphasizing that the state government adheres strictly to relevant laws guiding adoption of orphans, Ukah maintained that the state Ministry of Women Affairs, Community and Social Development usually keeps records of adoption and not adoption register as contained in the reports as such document belong to the court.
