CNPP, Edo youths hail INEC on Edo election

*Urge Obaseki to fulfill campaign promises
Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP) in Edo State and the Edo Odion Youth Movement, a socio-political organization, have commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the peaceful conduct of the governorship election in the state, saying the result of the election reflected the wish of the people of Edo.

The Edo Odion Youth Movement, in a statement  by its President, Comrade Wellington Osadolor, however, urged the winner of the election and APC candidate, Godwin Obaseki, to ensure he fulfils his promise to provide 200,000 jobs for youths, saying the people of the state are hopeful that he will surpass the records of the out-going governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

Addressing journalists in Benin City, yesterday, the CNPP Chairman, Roy Orobhator, who described the election as one of the best conducted since the exit of Prof. Attahiru Jega as INEC Chairman, observed, however, that it doubted the credibility of the results from Orhiomwon local government area “because some party agents were chased away from some polling units by some people loyal to the Peoples Democratic Party”.

Oribhabor, who described the election as “peaceful, credible, free and fair, and congratulated Godwin Obaseki for being victorious at the polls”.

The Edo Odion Movement, which hailed the emergence of Obaseki, noted, told the governor-elect: “The wise counsel you have given to the outgoing governor, Adams Oshiomhole, has led to the remodelling of infrastructure all over the state, like roads, red roof schools, markets and other public utilities that were left unkempt or abandoned for many years across the state came back to life.

“No doubt, within the eight years of this administration of which the Comrade Governor has attested to the fact that you are the brain box as the head of Economic and strategic team of Edo state government and we have no iota of doubt that you will perform more than the outgoing government as a template for delivering quality governance has been set for you”.
