Before now,  mobile networks were relying purely on 3G/UMTS technology, while  struggling to cope with the needs of today’s data hungry users.

But today, the fourth generation  long term evolution, 4G/LTE  is the next stage in mobile network development as it provides users with much faster data speeds than 3G is able to.

The recent launch of the Glo 4G LTE network in Nigeria and the announcement of take off by operators including  MTN and others has increased the  demands for 4G LTE enabled SIM cards and smartphones by consumers.

One thing is clear. The introduction Alcatel Pop 4 series which is  among the  4G LTE devices in Nigerian market  has further raised the bar in  the demand for LTE  enabled handsets.

Offering HD voice as well as 4G LTE web browsing connectivity of up to 150Mbps, Alcatel Pop 4   device has some areas that could be improved  such as the low end 1.1GHz processor and the RAM size that slows it down a little when it is pressured with multiple tasks and the internal storage space that could have been increased to 16 GB from the current 8 GB.

Like all other Alcatel devices, it offers more quality for less price than most competing devices. The Pop 4 comes with a 16 GB memory card inbox for Nigerian consumers.
