Some youths under the aegis of Urhobo Development and Unity forum, UDUF, have called on the National Boundary Commission (NBC) and other relevant government agencies to intervene in the boundary dispute between Ovre’eku community in Delta and Presco plc, Edo State, vowing that Urhobo will not concede an inch of their fatherland to the Binis.

Comrade Ese Sancho, the national coordinator of the group made this declaration during a solidarity visit to the leadership of Eku community led by its President General, Chief Joseph Ukweku. stating that the group was formed to protect Urhobo interests.

After hearing from leaders of the community on the invasion and brutality of their people, in a background report presented by Prof Okotie on behalf of the community, Comrade Sancho warned that enough is a enough, stressing that the peaceful disposition of the Urhobo should not be taken as a sign of cowardice.

While calling on security agents to be neutral in discharging their duties, he called on the National Boundary Commission as a matter of public importance to prevent carnage by coming out with its findings and reports to douse tension.

Prof Okotie disclosed that the present dispute affects 10 Urhobo communities along the coastal areas of both the Ethiope East and Ughelli North LGAs.
