No fewer than three  unidentified gun men suspected to be assassins,Thursday at Afor-Igwe Market, Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra State, shot a Pastor, Izuchukwu Aghaegbuna, when he wanted to buy fuel for his generator.

Pastor Aghaegbuna nearly met his untimely death at at about 8 pm when the incident happened at the market which is very close to the filling station where he was going to procure fuel. The victim according to Saturday Vanguard source, had on getting to the market alighted from his Pathfinder Jeep and   crossed over to the other side of the road to buy the fuel and  immediately, three men on motorcycle, armed to the teeth called him, “Pastor” and as he turned to look at those who were calling him, they shot him repeatedly at close range and drove off.

He was said to have slumped immediately and was rushed to Iyi-Enu Mission Hospital Ogidi, where he was placed in an intensive care unit before he was moved to an unknown hospital for further treatment.

His belongings that included his vehicle, jewel, Wrist watch and money were not touched as they left him in the pool of his blood as soon as they were satisfied that he was dead.

Speaking on his hospital bed he told newsmen that “ I saw the motorcycle   getting to me and one of them said, “Pastor” and as I looked to know who was calling me they shot me repeatedly and left immediately without dispossessing me of anything.”

A police team from Ogidi Police station believed to be investigating    the matter was seen interrogating the victim who was being nursed by his wife, Rita and a friend, Evangelist Wealth Onwe of Holy Ghost and Zoe Gospel Ministry.
