A cleric, Reverend Supo Ayokunle, has asked a Federal High Court in Ibadan to grant his application to extend the time within which he could apply for an order setting aside judgment of the court delivered on March 26, 2013.

The World Health Organization, WHO, has expressed deep sympathy over the detection of new cases of wild polio virus in Nigeria, after more than two years without wild poliovirus. Reacting to the development, the WHO Regional Director for Africa, Dr Matshidiso Moeti, said: “We are deeply saddened by the news that two Nigerian children have been paralyzed by polio. The Government has made significant strides to stop this paralyzing disease in recent years.

Nigerian troops have thwarted a Boko Haram attack in the country’s volatile northeast, killing 16 insurgents while 12 soldiers were wounded, an army spokesman said Monday.

The Lagos State Police Command yesterday, uncovered eleven buildings in Ilasamaja area of Lagos, with one of them popularly called PDP house which were used for illlegal bunkering activities. The police equally arrested four persons allegedly involved in the bunkering. The buildings located on Ibadan and Abeokuta streets, had underground pipes which pump petroleum products suspected to be diesel into wells. Thereafter, the products are loaded into trucks, drums and jerricans at night.
