This was even, as the association strives to promote a competitive gas market that will ensure availability and ample gas supply including; providing clarity on government’s policy in relation to transmission.
This was revealed in a statement to unveil the Bi-annual International Gas Conference and Exhibition organised by the NGA, to hold from 30th October to 2nd November 2016 at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, Nigeria.
According to the Publicity Secretary of the Association, Mr Debo Fagbami, “One of the major features of this year’s conference and exhibition is the introduction of Gas and Power Forum as open discussions between the Governments and private sector from one of the most exciting and anticipated energy markets in the world – Nigeria. “It is intended to help ensure government and private sector collaboration at; Achieving cost reflective tariffs and promoting investments to the gas and power sector. Furthermore, to promote a competitive gas market that will ensure availability and ample gas supply including; providing clarity on government’s policy in relation to transmission.
“There will be ministerial address on ‘Powering Nigeria: Consequences on Security of Supply, Infrastructures and Pricing’ by Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, Minister of Power, Works & Housing.”
Dignitaries to speak on related industry issues include; Mr. Austin Avuru, Council Member, NGA/MD, Seplat Petroleum Dev. Ltd and Engr. (DR) A. T. Atiku, MD, Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, including Mr. Michel Puchercos, GMD/CEO, Lafarge Group.
Other speakers are Dr. Festus Fadeyi, Chairman, Pan Ocean Oil Corporation; Prof. Barth Nnaji, Chairman, Geometric Power; Mr. Jeff Corey, COO, Seven Energy and Engr. Joseph Makoju, Director, Dangote Group.
The statement further stated that “since its inauguration in 1999, the Association (NGA), as a member of the International Gas Union, IGU, has continued to serve as a platform for major players and stakeholders to gain alignment and focus through constant deliberation on the activities of the Gas Industry in Nigeria.
According to the publicity secretary of the association, Mr Debo Fagbami, delegates and exhibitors to this event will not be limited to just Gas but will include Investing public’s, Power, Pipelines, LNG, Infrastructure, Engineering, and Construction.
