WARRI—THE Reformed Egbesu Fraternity, REF, yesterday, criticised the national leader of Ijaw ethnic nationality,   Chief Edwin Clark, over his denunciatation and  purported over-bearing posture on the delegation of Ijaw monarchs that met with the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, last Thursday,  in Abuja.

The fraternity, made up of Egbesu Boys of the Niger Delta, Egbesu Red Water Lions, Egbesu Mightier Fraternity and the Egbesu Sea Commandoes,  urged the Federal Government to be careful of the antics of Chief Clark,  saying: “It was he (Clark) that misled President Goodluck Jonathan, thus leading the former president to abandon the Niger Delta region after six years in office.”

The coalition of militants in a  statement, by “General” Tony Alagbakeriowei, GOC,  (Intelligence), while commending the Ijaw monarchs, elders and leaders of thought for establishing an environment for negotiation, also applauded Dr. Kachukwu for being consistent and persistent in driving the peace and negotiation process between the Federal Government and Niger Delta agitators despite seemingly glaring obstacles.
