Enugu – Football fans in Enugu on Sunday applauded Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and League Management Company (LMC) on their exemplary management of the ongoing Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) league.

They said performance of the league had endeared them to be coming to the stadium and rekindled their love for the local league especially with the telecast of the matches live on the Digital Satellite television (DStv).

A soccer enthusiast, Ikem Odenigbo, told NAN that the LMC had raised the bar of the league and had begun to take its pride of place at the international level.

According to Odenigbo, match officials appointment by LMC to manage matches has continued to put the interest of the game and issues of fair-play, equity and justice first.

“We have seen that only credible, efficient and detribalized match officials are appointed for league matches. This has had raised the bar already,’’ he said.

Another football fan, Mike Ejikeme, said that the LMC had been able to involve credible officials that always ensured that no club was given undue preference.

Ejikeme said that the exemplary performance and return of fans to the stadium was a clarion call from NFF, LMC and football stakeholders to sustain our league.

“This will, in turn, ensure welfare and advancement for our clubs’ players and technical crew,’’ he added.

Meanwhile, fans of Rangers International FC, Enugu, had restated their unflinching support for the club in their quest to win the league and Federation Cup this year.
