The Labour Party has dismissed as untrue allegations that the conduct of the primary election that led to the emergence of Mr. Cyril Odiboh as the party’s governorship candidate was marked by irregularities.
The Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Uroupa Samson clarified the situation in a statement issued to Vanguard yesterday. He said:“To say that the process that brought the flag bearer of Labour Party is faulty after about 192 hours when the process happened is only but unimaginable, laughable and totally unacceptable.
Omokaro was the only former officer from the care-taker committee of the party who was assigned to work with the national officers, he was accommodated in a hotel along with the national officers in Benin City outside his house even though he is resident in Benin metropolis and his allowances were paid, all of these were done by the party to ensure his efficiency.”
